There aren’t many models who could boast as many passport stamps as Nicole Harrison.

The WA beauty has been living overseas since she was 16 but the past 12 months were her busiest, with picture shoots for major international clients.

Harrison said it had been a hectic year but she was grateful to work with major clients such as Armani Sport, Maybelline and Bras N Things. “I was based out of New York, although I didn’t end up spending much time there,” the 23-year-old, who is signed to Chadwick Models, said. “I just got back from Mauritius and I also went to Italy six times, Spain, Ibiza, Mexico, Cabo San Lucas, Colombia, Peru, Argentina and I did lots of interstate travel in the US.”

Swanbourne-raised Harrison returned to Perth for the festive season to recharge with friends and family before she heads to a job in South Africa and then takes on Europe. “You can’t beat Perth over Christmas,” she said.

“Coming back was something I was so looking forward to because it was about -11 the day I left New York.”

Many other local models are bound for international locations this year. “Perth is such an isolated city and I definitely think that builds a strong work ethic,” Harrison said.

“I left at 16 and I grew up very fast. Not only are you living out of home but you couldn’t be farther away.

“You learn to rely on yourself and you have to work hard. I think that is what can put us ahead of other models.”

While Harrison admitted her jetsetting lifestyle could be gruelling at times, she said she counted her blessings to have a constant string of work.
