Australian model and Instagram influencer hits back after being shamed over pregnancy bump

Staff writersPerthNow

Australian Instagram model and influencer Belle Lucia has hit back at trolls shaming her over her five-months-pregnant baby bump.

The 24-year-old from Sydney announced the news of her pregnancy to her 1.3 million followers earlier this month and has been proudly displaying her progress week-by-week.

But her willingness to document the experience has also left her open to attacks from internet trolls shaming her for her barely visible bump and questioning whether she is pregnant at all.

This week she finally had enough, hitting back and trying to make people understand that “all women show differently”.

Sharing images of other woman at the same stage of pregnancy, Lucia bluntly told body shamers to get lost.

“Just because I’m not showing as much as you doesn’t mean my pregnancy is “unhealthy” or that I’m promoting a “skinny” pregnancy,” she wrote.

“It’s just my body and I cannot help how I’m showing like many other women.

“Body shaming is not okay - no matter how “big” or “small” one is.”

The shaming started very early in the model’s pregnancy, causing her to upload an ultrasound video.

She was forced to delete the vision soon after because “people were being rude and creepy”.
